Growing Girl, Growing Family

I was writing a friend about all the things Hailey is learning.  They may be common to those with kids but to us this is a whole new ride.  Hailey was introduced to GRASS yesterday.  We put a blanket out in our backyard and then put her favorite toy a foot so so away so she would have actually step on the grass to get to her toy.  Then crawling in it... that took some more enticement.

Joel played golf with a cat.  He'd hit the ball and the cat would chase it... that is till he dropped a   on it.

She's trying to CLIMB into the BATHTUB while we shower.  The reverse is also true, she will try to climb out of the bathtub to get more toys.  He favorite toy is the silver water faucet.  At first water pouring out of it scared her, but now it intrigues her.

Hailey growls.

Nothing in the house is sacred.  It is now available to the hands, whims, or munchings of bailey.  Cords, books, or that little thing she just found on the carpet.  That being said, at least she doesn't leave a wake of things behind her.  No, instead she leaves three foot diameter piles!

Joel got a Kelty carrying pack back so now he can take Hailey on long walks.  Our first walk ended up much longer than expected because we found a dead end river between us and the path back to the car.  Hailey came home frozen to the point of being blue.  Nothing a warm bath didn't cure.

She lives on Cheerios.

She enjoys our yoga ball even though all she can do is pound on it.

She loves other kids!

As others have found, she is a challenge to change a diaper on.  She will twist and turn and do everything in her power to make it impossible.  Joel has started putting her in the crib so that she can't grab onto the changing table railing for support and leverage.  Her most challenging pose was when we'd hold her feet she'd twist her torso 180 degrees so that her butt would be sticking up in the air.  pleasant...

We taught her to blow raspberries.

She prefers to drink out of our cups rather than a sippy.  Although, she leaves quite a bit of backwash, thus completely claiming it hers!

I made banana bread muffins.  I think it woke her up from her nap.  She sat in her high chair and knew something good was coming her way.  The eager look of yummy anticipation in her greedy little eyes.  I'm pretty sure if I'd given her the muffin whole she would have tried to stuff the whole thing in her mouth and swallow without enjoying or chewing.  She made sure to get every crumb that dropped. I should have know banana bread muffins would be a hit.  One of her first and favorite fruits to eat was a banana.

SHE HAS MORE HAIR!!!

Pictures will follow.
