I woke up the next morning to texts from people asking if we were safe. I didn't understand so I checked the news and social media. That's when I found out about the shooting. Our family was safe but hundred of others were affected-those from Vegas as well as nation wide who had come for the show.
It was amazing to hear the stories come out about strangers helping other strangers. Then the people in and around Vegas mobilized and gathered countless supplies, food, offered shelter, rides, support, comfort, etc. From food to memorial crosses people ran with the phrase, "Pray for Vegas."

While many people have shown criticism of events and how things may have been handled, I loved hearing the stories of good. I read that Vegas is known as Sin City, but not so much right now. Vegas is a place of willing hands.
It was ironic to me because as the previous weeks passed with hurricanes, floods, fires, and natural mass destruction I thought, wow, Vegas doesn't get fires or floods or hurricanes, well we are not immune either. But like the other places affected by tragedy Vegas responded.
It has been 5 days since the shooting and Vegas is still recovering and offering help and support in their own ways. We saw a notice this morning, Friday, that the Nevada Children's Discovery Museum was hosting a free day visit today. All donations and proceeds would go towards helping the victims of the Las Vegas Shooting. Joel worked all night and has worked overtime all week. He was tired but I asked if he wanted to come with us to the museum. He forfeited his precious sleep to come with us.
I'm glad he came and glad we went. The museum was amazing and a great time for us and the girls. We only stayed for 3 hrs and didn't see everything. Maybe about half... There was a climbing structure with different scientific hands on things to do, arts and crafts, water world, toddler town-which we didn't get to, fantasy world-which we didn't get to, inventions, etc. There was so much.

| Playing at the Tokyo Land gave Joel a craving for Sushi. So he sacrificed sleep for sushi... Silly boy. Hailey and Emi didn't complain. |
