September, Big girl bikes, dentist visits for everyone, preschool fun, and potty training.

September we tried to keep things a little more mellow but it didn't really work.  Work was off and on for Joel and as much as it bothered him not to be working full time it gave him opportunities that he might not have otherwise had, like teaching Hailey to ride a big girl bike with training wheel.  She was excited and ready to go go go.  It didn't take long before she was riding fast enough that I couldn't walk to keep up.

When his schedule did level out he ended up working nights.  That was a rough transition.  He now works from mignight to 7:30 a.m.  He comes home and eventually sleeps throughout the day mixed in with all the things we have going on.  It's nice and weird at the same time to have him home during the day.

A week after I got home from Washington, another filling that I had been done by the dentist here failed.  I booked another flight and headed back up to Bellingham for a quick trip.  I left on Thursday night and came back Sunday. The dentist here when I went it wanted to crown my whole tooth but I wasn't going to have that.  I already had a root canal and not much remaining tooth structure.  I talked with me dad and he said, Let's try an onlay.  It was be similar to a crown in that it is cemented on vs bonded but we would only do a part of my tooth.  It would be like doing a partial crown.  I got in Thursday night and he prepped the tooth and filled an other cavities that I had.  The next day he had his lab tech make the onlay.  Then we cemented it in Saturday night. It was weird feeling but I appreciated the talent, skill, and out of the box thinking of my Dad to help me keep my teeth.  It was funny that night at dinner trying to eat with 3/4 of my mouth numbed... lol

The next day once my mouth was numb we made rice crispy treats and my mom bought me new measuring cups/spoons!

Hailey and Emi's first dentist visit.  I don't know who was more nervous, them or me.  They sat on my lap for their x-rays and did great.  Then they got their teeth checked and polished.  The polish was weird for them and a little scary.  They liked their dentist Dr. Amy Goodwin.  They left with all kinds of toys and a balloon.  They got an electric brush so that next time it won't be as unfamiliar to them to have the polish tip.  It was a good trip.  I appreciated that Joel was there to help.

We tried to keep most of September mellow, play dates and small day outings.

We went to Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary for a Monday reading time.  They learned about tortoises and got to see lots of other animals.  The next day Hailey had a preschool field trip to Papa Dan's farm.  Mrs Adrianne's father has lots of animals and they got to learn about goats, tortoises, chickens, and bunnies.  They had a good time.  Emi was excited because she got to go to.  That is what finally prompted her to start potty training because we told her that she couldn't got to preschool until she learned how to go pee pee and poo poo on the potty all the time without using a diaper.

Hailey was getting bigger and with Baby Bristle coming we upgraded Hailey to a booster seat.  It was nerve wracking for me to give her so much freedom in a booster vs a 5 point carseat.  She can't buckle herself yet but she can unbuckle and get out all on her own.  She loves it.

Also, my serger has been in the shop for the past 2 months so I haven't been sewing.  I finally got it back and did a test project.  Hailey said she wanted a mermaid dress for her dolly. I free handed a mermaid tail and started putting it together.  It came out pretty well shape wise.  Then I stuff some polyfil in the tail so it had some structure to it.  She loves that too!
