The start of the year always begins with Brystol's birthday. This year she was in Wyoming with Joel, her sisters and the Wyoming clan. They had been there since Christmas and were having a good time. The party was just the capstone and beginning.
Hailey has been begging to learn more about sewing. She had a couple projects where she got to do a simplified cross stitch. But when she saw me starting to make more cloth wipes she wanted to help. She's gotten really good at threading her own needle to make projects. So I let her finish off the ends of the serge. I do that by threading the needle with the serged off thread and tucking it back through the finished seam. She learned quickly and enjoyed it.
Back in November, we thought watching KK was going to be a short term thing. The new year has started and she's still with us. The girls play great and Eli loves coming over and riding bikes or playing after school. Occasionally when the weather is nice, we go to the parks. Most people have Fall in September or October. The leaves finally fell off the trees...yes in January. It was almost as though the park rec people had purposely piled all of the leaves from the surrounding trees near the playground. The kids loved it. They also loved trying to bury each other and Sirius.
Due to Covid, church has been a hit or miss thing. Sometimes we can go and sometimes they change the rules and we can't. This was one of the rare times that we actually went to church AND the girls were dressed up really nicely, so we decided to take a more formal picture. Can't believe how fast they are growing and how sassy they all are.
Since this summer Emi has had these little bumps on the back of her leg. Over Christmas time they exploded and we figured it was time to go to the dermatologist because they weren't going away on their own. The Dr told her that she had Molluscum Contagiosum. Basically it's a bacterial infection that is common at public places, especially pools. They used an oil derived from beetles that reacts with the bacteria and kills it. The down side is that it produces nasty little blisters on the contact site.
So after a dermatologist appointment, Emi asked if we could do a Mommy Date. Of course it had to be sushi. Being 6 months pregnant, the only place that I currently like sushi is Ohjah. So we went. Emi got her California roll, 2 bowls of miso soup, and tried the couple rolls that I got.
While Joel was in Wyoming, I tinted the small hexagon window by the diaper station and the small bathroom window. Joel decided since we had the tint, he wanted to do more. So we then tinted Emi's room which is southern facing and gets a lot of heat and sunlight. Then we did Hailey's room. Then he did the master bedroom. Then he wanted to do the rest of the rooms in the house... we stopped before that point but who knows if it'll happen later. He had fun playing.
Emi was excited because she lost another tooth. I think that makes for #2! Toothitina and Cupid teamed up and brought her a chocolate heart instead of chocolate coins. She was excited.
To end January, I loaded the girls and Joel up in the car and dropped them off at the airport. Becky had found super cheap flights and they were off to Indiana! I had a ticket, but decided to stay home and not do all the crazy travel at 6 months prego. Airport, a 3-4 hr flight, more driving and a busy weekend was more than I was ready to handle with my body feeling the way it does. Bon Voyage'!
