Are we going to make it? When will we leave? I don't know...
The original plan was to leave Friday after Joel got off work and stay in Provo with Margaret and visit Dana. That was before overtime had Joel getting home by 4:30 instead of 2:30. That would put us in to Utah past midnight. We decided to push back to Saturday. Saturday we were trying to get to Farr West Utah for a Ben Smith Bighorn family and friends park luncheon. I didn't know if we were going to make it. 8 pm Friday night and Joel still wasn't home. 9 pm, Joel gets home but hasn't packed and wants to know what time we have to leave to make it to the Bighorn luncheon. 4-5am. And he wasn't packed and the rocket box wasn't on the van and nothing was loaded. Packed, but not loaded.
Determined, Joel put the rocket box on, loaded everything, packed him bags. Hailey finished with the kids clothes and toys and we were set to leave dark and early.
We made it on the road by 5:30. We needed to stop in St George, get gas, pick up my mom's handicap ticket, a life preserver for JJ, etc. We got gas but everything else fell apart. Tensions were high and we were running more behind. We forgot about the stick, the life preserver and left! We had places to be and challenges and everything seems like it was trying to stop us.
We made it to Farr West at 1:45. The party lasted until 3 so we made the best of stretching and visiting! Ben, Alice, Connie, Randy, cousins, and so many more people. This was the start of our trip. It's all about the people. The destination location isn't the goal, the people are.
